Boniface nominated for Bundesliga Rookie award
Victor Boniface, the Nigerian striker who plays for Bayer Leverkusen, has been shortlisted for the September Bundesliga Rookie of the Month award.
The 22-year-old, who also won the award in August, faces competition from RB Leipzig’s Xavi Simons and Hoffenheim’s Maximilian Beier.
Simons, a midfielder, was also a nominee for the award in August.
Boniface had a stellar month for Bayer Leverkusen, scoring two goals and assisting three more in four games.
Since joining the German club from Union St. Gilloise in Belgium this summer, he has been on fire, netting seven goals in seven league matches.
He is the fifth Bayer Leverkusen player to score seven goals in his first seven Bundesliga games.
Boniface was also named Bundesliga Player of the Month for August.
