A man convicted of plotting an attack on a Taylor Swift concert in Vienna has lost a privacy lawsuit against Disney. The claim was over footage used in a documentary about the singer.
According to Reuters, the Austrian man challenged Disney after his parents’ home appeared briefly in the docuseries Taylor Swift: The End of an Era.
Court rejects privacy complaint
A Vienna court ruled on Wednesday that a residential address did not receive the highest level of legal privacy protection in the circumstances.
The court also noted that the man was identified as Beran A. Moreover, he no longer lived at the property when the footage was shown.
The address appeared on screen for only a few seconds, while the programme did not identify him by name.
Attack on concert was foiled
Beran was convicted earlier this year over a plot targeting one of Swift’s planned Vienna concerts in 2024.
Authorities uncovered the plan before the proposed attack could take place.
The discovery led organisers to cancel Swift’s Vienna performances amid security concerns.
His latest legal challenge centred solely on the documentary’s use of footage showing his family home. It did not concern his conviction in the attack case.
