#BBNaija: Twitter users slam Erica after discovering Laycon has sickle cell

Twitter users have called out disqualified Big Brother Nigeria (BBNaija) housemate, Ngozi ‘Erica’ Nlewedim, in defence of fan-favourite, Laycon, after discovering his genotype.

At the time of this report, ‘Laycon is SC’ is currently trending on the top five trends on Twitter with over 35.1K Tweets, trending alongside the top trend of the day, ‘Erica’, which currently has 104K Tweets.

Some users on the popular microblogging site believe that Erica took advantage of Laycon despite knowing that he is SC.

Recall that Erica was disqualified by Big Brother after receiving three strikes for flouting house rules, one of which was for ‘provocation, goading, bullying, and victimisation’ against Laycon during a confrontation over claims she tried to kiss him.

Laycon, however, is in contention for the N85million grand prize after making it to Sunday’s grand finale alongside fellow housemates, Nengi, Vee, Neo and Dorathy.

What to know about the SC genotype.

The SC genotype is one of the genotypes under the Sickle cell anemia, or sickle cell disease (SCD), is a genetic disease of the red blood cells (RBCs). The Hemoglobin SC is the second most common type of sickle cell disease. It occurs when a person inherits the Hb C gene from one parent and the Hb S gene from the other. Individuals with Hb SC have similar symptoms to individuals with Hb SS. However, the anemia is less severe.

According to a user @nichole_tp, Erica intentionally hurled insults at Laycon intentionally. She said, “So Laycon is SC Those words are gonna hurt him more than I thought. Probably Derica knew it b4 throwing those words because those words were hitting the bullseye. Man is strong anyways. He’s gonna live long. Laycon for the Money.”

Another user, @CHRISBROWNGOD, said that Erica is evil. – “I’m not shocked that Erica knew that Laycon is SC but still used it to body shame him wished death on him.
