Tacha urges BBNaija organisers to suspend show temporarily

Ex-BBNaija housemate, Tacha, in court over alleged disorderly behaviour

Former Big Brother Naija housemate Natacha Akide, popularly known as Tacha, has urged the organisers of the reality television show to consider taking a break and introducing fresh ideas.

The reality star made the suggestion while speaking on Arise 360, a programme on Arise News.

Tacha argued that the Nigerian entertainment industry had changed significantly since Big Brother Naija became popular, particularly because of social media.

She explained that audiences now have access to numerous entertainment platforms, making it increasingly difficult for traditional reality shows to maintain viewers’ attention.

The former housemate advised the organisers to review the programme’s format and introduce more engaging experiences.

“I think they need to take a break, re-strategise and just come up with something,” she said.

Tacha explained that social media discussions, celebrity controversies and online entertainment increasingly compete with reality television for audiences.

She referenced public interest in the family disagreements involving music duo P-Square as an example of developments attracting widespread online attention.

The reality star argued that temporarily suspending BBNaija could help rebuild anticipation among viewers.

She also encouraged the organisers to create concepts different from previous editions.

Although she was disqualified during the competition, she subsequently built a career across entertainment, fashion and broadcasting.

She has also expanded her business interests and established a strong social media presence.

Her latest comments have added to discussions surrounding the future of reality television in Nigeria.

Big Brother Naija remains one of Africa’s most recognised reality television programmes, having produced several entertainment personalities.

However, Tacha believes fresh approaches will help the show remain competitive as digital entertainment continues to evolve.
