Bandits attacked two churches in Kaduna State, killing at least three people and kidnapping 30 others, including a pastor.

The incident took place on Sunday morning in the Bakinpah-Maro community, located in the Kajuru Local Government Area.

According to eyewitnesses, the bandits stormed the Evangelical Church Winning All and a Catholic church while services were in progress.

A former chairman of Kajuru LGA, Cafra Caino, confirmed that the bandits abducted 30 people, including Pastor Bernard Gajera, from the two churches.

The Kaduna State Police Command also confirmed the attack. Police spokesman ASP Mansir Hassan said, “Three persons were killed by the bandits.” He added that the exact number of those kidnapped has not yet been confirmed.

“The police, in collaboration with sister agencies, have launched a manhunt for the fleeing bandits to arrest them and rescue the abducted individuals safe and alive,” Hassan said.

The attack has left the community in shock, with residents hoping for the safe return of those taken by the bandits.
