Asake outshines Burna Boy on US Billboard Afrobeats chart

Nigerian Afrobeats artiste Ahmed Ololade, popularly known as Asake, has made history in the global music industry.

Asake has now surpassed Burna Boy to become the artiste with the most songs on the Billboard U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart.

Asake’s latest album, *Lungu Boy*, made an impressive debut on the chart this week.

Nine tracks from the album have secured spots on the prestigious list, bringing Asake’s total entries on the chart to 50. This achievement highlights his growing influence and mastery in the Afrobeats genre.

One standout track from the album, “Active,” featuring American rapper Travis Scott, is currently at the top of the chart. This further showcases Asake’s expanding reach and impact in the international music scene.

The Billboard U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart, which was launched in April 2022, has quickly become a key indicator of the global influence of Afrobeats music.

Since its creation, the chart has been largely dominated by Nigerian artistes, with Asake now leading the pack.
