Antoine Griezmann lays blame as Juventus beat Barcelona 3-0

Published

Antoine Griezmann has blamed Barcelona players for the club’s 3-0 loss to Juventus in the UEFA Champions League game of Tuesday night.

The game saw Cristiano Ronaldo’s return to the Camp Nou where he once used to play in the colours of Barcelona’s rivals Real Madrid.

The Portuguese who missed the first leg in Turin opened the scoring from a spot-kick in the 13th minute.

The lead was doubled for Juventus by McKenzie in the 20th minute.

Ronaldo got his second on the night from another spot-kick in the 52nd minute to end the game 3-0.

Speaking after the game, Griezmann said that Barcelona was lacking in every department on the night.

“We didn’t turn up,” Griezmann said as quoted by ESPN after the game.

“They turned us over in the first half. We were lacking in every department: attitude, desire to run, to defend … everything was bad.

“Who’s to blame if not those of us who are out there playing? We know how to run, how to work hard, and that’s what we must do to move forward.

“I don’t want to look for excuses. We have to leave that to one side and work hard. There’s nothing else for it. There’s a game on Sunday [against Levante], and we have to win it. The image [of the team] tonight was ugly.”
