Amotekun officers reportedly kill two young boys in Oyo

Operatives of the state security network known as Amotekun Security Corps reportedly killed two young boys in Oyo State after a melee broke out at a carnival.

According to reports, the officers shot sporadically in an attempt to disperse youths of Obada community of Ibarapa North local government area of Oyo State on Wednesday after they held a carnival beyond 10 pm.

It was gathered that an altercation between the youths and the operatives broke out after the former refused to end the carnival on the order of the former.

Razak Odugbemi and Lekan Ogunlade (both 20-year-olds) were confirmed dead at General hospital after they were allegedly hit by bullets, Ayete, while three others have been transferred to the various hospital at Igboora after sustaining various degrees of injuries.

However, the parents of Odugbemi of Olukotun compound, Tapa, claimed was at the veranda of their house when the bullets hit him.

The Commandant of Amotekun Security Corps in Oyo State, Colonel Olayinka Olayanju (rtd) confirmed the incident, saying personnel of the security outfit responded to gunshots fired at them by the boys. (Nigerian Tribune)
