Abia govt halts monarch’s coronation, begins probe
The anticipated coronation of the new Eze Aro of Arochukwu Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Engr Eberechukwu Oji, initially set for December 26, 2023, has been delayed.
Earlier concerns had been raised regarding the eligibility of Engr Eberechukwu Oji, with allegations that his father is still alive, questioning his suitability for the crown.
Despite resolving the controversies and announcing the coronation date, recent reports indicate that the Abia State Government has requested a hold on the event to facilitate additional investigations.
Confirming the postponement, Eze Aro Engr Eberechukwu Oji stated, ‘The coronation, initially billed to take place on December 26th, 2023, at the Arochukwu Civic Centre, will no longer hold on the said date, as Abia State Government has requested for a postponement to enable it to conclude investigations into issues that emanated as a result of the emergence of Eze Aro.’ He urged guests, well-wishers, and friends of the kingdom to await further information on the unfolding development.”
