Election materials arrive PDP National Chairman’s ward at 1.30 p.m.
The INEC officials arrived Ikuru Town Waterfront with election materials at 1.30 p.m., as the Presidential and National Assembly elections are expected to stop at 2 p.m.
Despite the late arrival of the INEC officials, electorates still waited patiently at the waterfront as the accreditation was yet to commence as at 1:58 p.m.
The large turnout of voters who have been awaiting the arrival of materials since 7 a.m. heaved a sigh of relief and maintained calmness when the INEC officials eventually arrived.
It was gathered that their reaction was due to the earlier rumour they had received that the materials meant for the ward were hijacked.
The Ikuru Town, which is Ward 5, Unit 19 in Andoni Local Government Area of Rivers is the Ward and Unit of the PDP National Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus and Chief Davies Ikanya, former APC state Chairman and the current Candidate of Andoni/ Opobo-Nkoro Federal Constituency.
Mr Ejit Abraham, a PDP agent said that he earlier got signals from the RAC Centre in Ngo Town, the Headquarters of the LGA that electoral officials were already on the way.
Mr Erien Soo, an APC agent, had earlier attributed the delay in the arrival of election materials and personnel to the terrain and peculiar transportation problems in the area.
