The WWE legend made the revelation during an appearance on Live with Kelly and Mark, where he received congratulations from the hosts on his marriage.
Their attention soon turned to his wedding band, which appeared noticeably different from the traditional rings commonly worn by married couples.
When asked about the unusual accessory, Cena took it off effortlessly, revealing that it was made of rubber rather than a conventional precious metal.
Explaining his choice, the actor and professional wrestler said the material allows him to keep the ring on regularly while accommodating the demands of his acting career, which sometimes require him to change his appearance for different roles.
“It is rubber.”
“So, I want to be able to wear it all the time. And when I get the opportunity to play different characters, I have to take it on and off. And it gets scuffed up a lot.”
Despite its modest appearance and inexpensive material, Cena made it clear that the ring carries enormous sentimental value.
Emphasising just how much the wedding band means to him, he described it as the most precious item he owns, regardless of its monetary worth.
“But it means everything to me. It’s amazing that this little rubber hoop is the most valuable possession I have.”
