Nollywood actress Doris Ogala has been remanded at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre in Lagos over allegations of cyberstalking, cyberbullying and attempted extortion involving Pastor Chris Okafor.
According to The PUNCH, Justice Akintayo Aluko of the Federal High Court in Lagos ordered her remand on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, pending the hearing of her bail application.
The actress was arraigned on three counts filed by the Office of the Attorney-General of the Federation.
Prosecutors alleged that she published intimate images and electronic messages concerning the cleric without his consent.
Doris Ogala pleads not guilty to charges
Prosecution counsel Tolulope Mokolu told the court that the alleged offences occurred between September 2024 and March 2026.
The prosecution accused Ogala of publishing intimate photographs and circulating electronic messages allegedly intended to embarrass, intimidate and harass Okafor.
It further alleged that she threatened to continue publishing damaging material unless the cleric compensated her or purchased a house for her.
The prosecution maintained that the allegations constituted offences under the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Amendment Act, 2024.
However, the actress pleaded not guilty to all three counts.
Court rejects immediate release request
Following her plea, the prosecution requested that Ogala be remanded while the court considered her bail application.
Mokolu explained that he had only received the bail application that Wednesday and required time to respond.
Defence counsel N. C. Atulomah opposed the remand request and urged the court to release the actress.
The lawyer argued that Ogala was a governorship candidate of a political party in Abia State and assured the court that she would attend subsequent proceedings.
However, Justice Aluko ruled that the defence had not provided sufficient material to justify her immediate release.
The judge ordered an accelerated hearing of the bail application and adjourned proceedings until October 30, 2026.
Ogala will remain at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre pending the court’s decision on bail.
The charges remain allegations, and the actress has not been convicted.
