Bronson Reed has offered his first public comments about the tense exchange with Nigerian born wrestler, Oba Femi, that took place following last week’s episode of WWE RAW.
The rivalry between Reed and Femi has intensified since Reed made his surprise return at Saturday Night’s Main Event. As Femi battled Bron Breakker, Reed entered the fray and launched a vicious attack on The Ruler. He connected with four straight Tsunamis, forcing the match to conclude with a disqualification.
The confrontation carried over into the following week’s RAW.
Femi was placed in a difficult situation after attempting to confront The Vision on his own. Breakker repeatedly dropped him with Spears before Reed joined the attack, adding several Tsunamis to the punishment already inflicted on Femi.
After Femi had been taken down, Reed put his foot on the back of the former NXT Champion. The gesture appeared to be intended as a show of dominance, but Femi immediately responded by knocking Reed’s foot away.
The incident quickly became a talking point backstage. Reports indicated that Femi’s response had not been planned as part of the segment and reportedly surprised some members of WWE personnel. There were also claims of frustration over the unexpected moment, although it has not been established whether the frustration was aimed at Reed, Femi, or both competitors.
In an interview with The West Sport, Reed addressed the exchange and said his actions were designed to reinforce his status as the dominant figure. However, he also suggested that Femi’s refusal to accept the gesture highlighted a similarity between the two men, particularly their shared desire to establish themselves as WWE’s top competitor. Reed stated,
“I think you got to remember, like, I am the top dog. I’m always going to assert dominance, and that’s what I would try to do, and he’s very much the same. That’s why he obviously hit my foot off. So, if people have speculation about these things, then go for it, speculate. But of course, both of us want to be number one, and we’re going to do whatever it takes to be number one.”
