THERE IS NO HIDING PLACE! Police react to threat by robbers to visit Lagos residents
The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Imohimi Edgal, has responded to the purported threat by armed robbers to visit the residents of Egan, Akesan, Igando and its environs in Lagos State.
The police boss had ordered his men to gun down any robber found with arms and arrest any criminal suspect who might disturb the peace in the state.
According to multiple media reports, a purported notice by the robbers warning the residents that they either keep some money for them or get killed had circulated.
Reacting to the viral reports Edgal has vowed not to spare the robbers and also beef up the security in the target areas.
The police boss noted that the activities of robbers in those areas were worrisome as confirmed by the residents. To that effect, the CP has ordered that any person found using arms in the area should be gunned down and suspects arrested, P.M.EXPRESS reports.
Edgal said that he was also working to set up local vigilante in the areas to work with the police in order to ensure that there will be peace, protection of lives and properties. He warned criminals to leave the state because there was no hiding place for them.
During the stakeholders meeting with the residents, the CP informed them of the measures taken so far and asked them to cooperate with the police to fish out the criminal elements within the areas.
He also warned the hotel owners to be wary of the guests and monitor their activities.
