A concert attendee is speaking out after alleging that he and his family members were urinated on while watching Morgan Wallen perform at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, United States.
Troy Grevelding attended Wallen’s concert on Saturday, July 18, alongside his wife, brother, and two nieces.
In an exclusive with PEOPLE, he hinted that an incident occurred during the show when a man allegedly began urinating on members of his family from their seats.
Grevelding said he believes the man was intoxicated at the time and had mistakenly returned to the wrong seat. According to Troy, he had interacted with the man earlier in the evening during opening act Ella Langley’s performance, when he asked him to stop speaking loudly to people on FaceTime during the concert.
Troy said that after leaving his seat to get drinks and snacks, he returned and apologized to the man. He claimed the two, who were both attending the concert with their families, later had a friendly conversation about sports and even jokingly “photobombed” each other’s photos.
He said the interaction remained “civil” until the man allegedly began urinating on his wife and niece, describing the act as “premeditated.”
“Well, a couple songs now into the Morgan Wallen set, my wife…well, I end up feeling something, I didn’t think nothing of it,” Troy says of the incident. “I thought it was just another guy behind me, you know what I mean? It was spilled beer, whatever.”
“And then my wife says to me, ‘Whatever that man’s doing, is all over my leg,’ ” Troy recounts. “And at that same time, I was kind of, like, standing on an angle, so I just kind of like, look over my right shoulder, and at that point, dude, his pants are completely down.”
Troy said he could not determine whether the man was trying to urinate into “a bottle or a can.”
“And I don’t care what he was doing because I was getting peed all over, my wife was getting peed all over, [and] my 8-year-old niece was getting peed on,” he added, explaining that the seriousness of the moment caused everything to feel like it had “slow down.”
Troy’s brother, Tim Grevelding, who attended the concert with his two daughters, ages 8 and 11, described the alleged incident as “just sickening.”
“We had a 1.5 hour ride back to where we were staying and we had pee-covered clothing,” Tim shared. “It just wasn’t the outcome we were looking for.”
Tim said the concert was his daughters’ first live music event and that the experience was cut short because of what happened. He added that his daughter “really wants to see Morgan Wallen play again.”
The brothers said their family has since been in contact with the Senior Vice President of Operations and Customer Experience at M&T Bank Stadium.
“So at the end of the day, my goal is to hold everybody accountable for what you did or did not do,” Troy said.
Maryland Transportation Authority Police responded to the reported incident. According to TMZ, the man, whose identity has not been released, was detained outside the stadium but was not arrested.
MDTA Police told TMZ that the agency is conducting an “active and open criminal investigation into this matter.”
Troy also shared a video showing police officers speaking with him and his wife about the alleged incident. In the footage, officers explain that certain “steps” must be completed, including reviewing stadium security footage, before an arrest can be made.
An officer also informed Troy that he may eventually be able to subpoena the footage and pursue charges against the man.
