Swedish police have arrested a man on suspicion of attempted murder after a woman fell from a second-floor balcony in the Gärdet district of Stockholm.
Authorities said the suspect was inside or close to the apartment when officers responded to the scene following reports from neighbours that a woman had fallen from the balcony.
“He is familiar with the woman. We are investigating what kind of relationship it is,” said police press spokesperson Ola Österling.
The woman was transported to hospital by ambulance, where officers were later able to conduct a brief interview with her. Police have not disclosed the severity of her injuries.
According to Österling, both the woman and the arrested man are aged between 20 and 25 years.
The incident occurred during the early hours of Saturday, and investigations into the circumstances surrounding the fall are ongoing.
