A prominent member of the All Progressives Congress, Bashir Bakari, has formally withdrawn his membership from the party, blaming what he described as continuous lack of recognition and inclusion.

Bakari, from Majidadi Ward in Jalingo Local Government Council of Taraba State, conveyed his decision in a resignation letter submitted to the APC Ward Chairman over the weekend, stating that the action takes effect immediately.

In the letter, he stated that his decision was prompted by years of dedication and contributions to the party which, according to him, were not properly acknowledged.

He recalled that he contested as an aspirant for the Jalingo II Constituency during the 2023 elections and also served on the Tinubu Presidential Campaign Council in the same election period. Despite these engagements, Bakari said he was subjected to what he termed unfair treatment and a lack of internal party democracy, factors he noted influenced his decision to leave the APC.

He further explained that the decision followed extensive consultations with his supporters and other stakeholders, adding that he plans to pursue alternative political platforms where his aspirations and abilities can be more effectively utilised.
