The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria has reduced the 2026 Hajj fares for intending pilgrims across the country, marking a significant drop from last year’s rates.

According to the new figures released by the Commission, pilgrims from the Borno and Adamawa zones will now pay ₦7,579,020.96 instead of ₦8,327,125.59 — a reduction of ₦748,104.63.

In the Northern Zone, the new fare is ₦7,696,769.76, down by ₦760,915.83 from the previous ₦8,457,685.59. Pilgrims from the Southern Zone will now pay ₦7,991,141.76, a decrease of ₦792,943.83 from last year’s ₦8,784,085.59.

NAHCON, in a statement posted on its official X page on Monday, said the adjustment was made to make the holy pilgrimage more affordable for Nigerian Muslims ahead of the 2026 exercise.

The Commission also fixed December 5, 2025, as the new deadline for all payments.

“Intending pilgrims are advised to complete their payments on or before the stated deadline to ensure smooth processing and participation in the 2026 Hajj,” NAHCON said.

It also directed the public to visit its official website, [www.nahcon.gov.ng](http://www.nahcon.gov.ng), for more details.

In October, President Bola Tinubu, through his Deputy Chief of Staff, Senator Ibrahim Hadeija, had directed the Commission to reduce the announced Hajj fares to ease the financial burden on Nigerian Muslims.

Before that directive, NAHCON had approved and released the initial 2026 fares in September.
