A prominent member of the All Progressives Congress in Gombe State, Abdullahi Jalo Castic, has said that President Bola Tinubu’s path to re-election in 2027 is already taking shape, citing a wave of defections into the ruling party as evidence of growing public confidence in the current administration.

In an interview with Daily Sun, Jalo noted that the increasing number of governors, lawmakers, and political figures joining the APC signals a consolidation of political strength ahead of the next general elections.

He described the development as a strong endorsement of President Tinubu’s leadership and policy direction.

“You can see what is happening. Governors and key political figures are joining APC with their structures, councillors, chairmen, commissioners and even market women. This means people have started appreciating what President Tinubu and Vice President Shettima are doing for the country,” he said.

He explained that the surge in support across communities is not the result of formal campaign efforts but rather an organic reaction to the administration’s performance. “There is no need for mobilisation again. People have been mobilised already,” he said, emphasizing that citizens at the grassroots are now more enlightened and responsive to development-oriented governance.

Jalo pointed to visible infrastructure projects and other tangible interventions as factors contributing to growing public support for the administration. “When people see development around them, they naturally align with the government delivering it,” he added.

Addressing political speculation in Gombe State, the APC chieftain dismissed rumours surrounding Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya’s potential successor, stating that the governor has not made any official statement on the matter.

“With the kind of political realignment and awareness we are seeing now, the handwriting is already on the wall. Tinubu can sleep easy because 2027 is already speaking for itself,” he stated.
