Nigerians on social media have condemned the brutal assault of a female National Youth Service Corps member in Anambra State after a viral video showed vigilantes beating and stripping her naked.

The video, shared by Haven 360 Foundation on Facebook on Monday, captured gun-wielding men believed to be operatives of Operation Udo Ga-Achi, also known as Agunechemba Vigilante Group, storming a corps members’ lodge and attacking the victim identified as Jennifer Edema Elohor.

According to the foundation, the incident happened on July 23 when the vigilantes accused the corpers of being internet fraudsters, despite their production of NYSC identity cards and uniforms.

The group wrote, “The assault was particularly egregious in the case of Jennifer Edema Elohor, who was beaten, stripped naked, and left exposed and covered in blood. The victims were subjected to unsavoury, horrible, sexually degrading words and actions, including threats of sexual violation.”

The clip sparked outrage online with many Nigerians demanding accountability.

Jules_Eby commented, “This so wrong. You don’t give out guns to hoodlums. Regardless of what she might have done, there are proper ways to handle this.”

Rasaq Malik said, “Police and NYSC, justice is needed.”

Another user, Nkechi First, wrote, “This is the madness Soludo has caused in Anambra State. Who fights insecurity like this?”

AddyAdeyemi described the attack as “nonsense,” while JAY👑 called on the police to act swiftly.

Chiboy4love questioned, “If Simon Ekpa is available can Soludo and his evil boys try such?”

Blak|| Tech|| Data Analyst asked, “Are they in police custody already?”

Chinenye Okafor wrote, “How can you treat children serving their country like this? If this can happen to corpers, ordinary citizens are not safe.”

Bright Uzor commented, “This is exactly why vigilantes should not be armed. They abuse power.”

Funmilayo Ade said, “Jennifer could have been my sister. I feel sick watching that video.”

Another user, Kelvin Jay, wrote, “Governor Soludo must explain why this group is operating with guns. This is state-backed terror.”

Princess Lola added, “The NYSC should withdraw all corps members from Anambra until their safety is guaranteed.”

Kingsley Nnamdi said, “We all know vigilantes help fight insecurity, but this is pure wickedness. They disgraced that girl publicly, and it is unforgivable.”

The incident has continued to fuel heated conversations online, with many insisting that both the vigilante group and their sponsors must be held responsible.
