Reality television personality and former Big Brother Naija housemate, Anita Natacha Akide, popularly known as Tacha, has expressed her intention to venture into politics.
Speaking during an interview on Channels Television, the 29-year-old Rivers State native discussed her views on governance, youth participation, and the need for change in her home state.
Tacha said she no longer wants to remain a passive observer but aims to contribute directly to decision-making processes in the country.
She said: “Definitely, when it’s time, I would. I’m not sure about the next elections. But if it’s something I’m working on, I’d need to make it at least 70% already done before I can talk about it.”
While she has yet to decide on a specific political office, Tacha emphasized that she is laying the necessary groundwork before formally declaring her intentions.
She also addressed common perceptions about politics, urging more young people to get involved despite the negative stereotypes.
“We keep saying politics is dirty, but we forget that we play politics every day. We try to be politically correct, but don’t see that we can play it on a larger scale and benefit our people. I think it’s about time, really,” she added.
