Popular Nigerian skit maker and media personality, Nedu Wazobia, has denied allegations of involvement in hard drugs and fraudulent activities following a leaked audio released by social media critic, VeryDarkMan.

The audio, which surfaced on Tuesday, contained a voice alleged to be Nedu’s, claiming connections with individuals linked to hard drugs and internet fraud in South Africa, Turkey, and Morocco.

In the recording, the voice was heard saying, “I have a lot of yahoo guys and drug guys that are waiting for me to come to South Africa, even Turkey and Morocco.”

Reacting to the viral audio, Nedu took to his Instagram story to clear his name, stating that he has never been involved in any criminal activity.

“Hello everyone, this is not a joke anymore. I know nothing about that voice note going around. I didn’t make that voice note. While this seems to be fun and games, I have never and will never be part of anything criminal,” Nedu wrote.

The controversy began after an episode of ‘The Honest Bunch’ podcast, co-hosted by Nedu, where former Big Brother Naija contestant, Deeone, accused VeryDarkMan of engaging in same-sex relationships and receiving money for sexual favors.

In response, VeryDarkMan accused Nedu of using the podcast to spread false information, adding that Nedu attempted to bribe him with a car to appear on the show.

He further alleged that Nedu defrauded a UK-based NGO of N60 million, promising to promote a show in Nigeria but failing to follow through.

“I will write a letter to their government so that they can investigate. Who knows if Nedu is into drugs too,” VeryDarkMan said.

As the accusations gained attention, Nedu announced his resignation from ‘The Honest Bunch’ podcast, citing the toll the controversy has taken on his peace of mind and family.
