The family of former Inspector General of Police, Gambo Jimeta, has said his alive and not dead as reported in the media on Wednesday.
The family made the clarification in a statement signed and issued by Mubarak Gambo in Abuja on Wednesday.
The statement reads in part:
“Our attention has been drawn to online news reports on the death of the former Inspector General of Police, Alhaji Gambo Jimeta.
“We hereby emphatically state that Alhaji Gambo Jimeta is very much alive and is not dead.”
It was gathered that the family spoke with Premium Times after they broke the story. The medium had since corrected the information as well as issued an apology.
The family was however overwhelmed by the show of concern and thanked everyone that reached out to them.
