The Oyo State Government has warned head teachers in all public primary schools to stop holding meetings during school hours.

This was announced by Dr. Nureni Adeniran, Chairman of the Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board, on Tuesday in Ibadan while monitoring the resumption of schools.

Dr. Adeniran emphasized that the warning aims to ensure that all schools follow the unified school timetable. He stated, “This is a warning to all head teachers and teachers to desist from holding meetings during school hours. Henceforth, any primary school head teacher who indulges in such an act will be severely dealt with.”

The chairman also urged unions and associations within the basic education sector to follow this directive as the new school session begins.

Adeniran directed Education Secretaries to pass the information to all head teachers in their respective local government areas, ensuring that the message is widely understood.

During the monitoring, Dr. Adeniran expressed satisfaction with the number of pupils who resumed school and encouraged teachers to remain dedicated to their duties. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to providing quality education, saying, “The administration of Gov. Seyi Makinde is committed to delivering quality education in our public schools.”
