A 58-year-old man has died while observing a 19-day dry fasting in the Alagbado area of Lagos State. The Lagos State Police Command confirmed the incident on Tuesday.

Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, spoke to newsmen about the incident. He stated, “The incident occurred at about 6 am on Monday in the Alagbado area of Lagos.”

SP Hundeyin explained that the man’s younger brother reported the death to the Alagbado Police Division at about 7 pm on Monday. “The younger brother said his brother died while allegedly on 19 days of dry fasting,” he said.

He also mentioned that no foul play was suspected and that the family had requested to take the body for burial.

In a separate incident, SP Hundeyin reported that two suspected traffic robbers were arrested by officers from the Ilupeju Division.

The suspects, Wasiu Olarenwaju, 39, and Adeolu Adeyemo, 30, were caught attempting to rob a driver whose vehicle had broken down at Anthony Bridge, Ilupeju. “Investigation is ongoing in the incident,” he added.
