A recent data released by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s National Center for Health Statistics has indicated a surge in marriage rates coupled with a decline in divorce rates.
The marriage rate that dropped in 2020 by 5.1 per 1000 people has experienced an increase.
In 2022,the rate also increased to 6.2 per 1000 reaching to over 2million marriages within a year.
According to the center, this rise is attributed to not just rescheduling of weddings post – pandemic and also a newfound appreciation for committed relationship.
On the other hand, the divorce rate has seen a downward slope, the rate in 2022 stood at 2.4 per 1000 people, a slight increase above 2021 low data of 2.3 but a more decrease from the rate of 4 per 1000 gotten in 2000.
This data is largely contributed to by the fact that couples are more willing to work through every situation and make their relationship work out.
The normalization of therapy and flexible marital roles have aided the increase.
The figures shows that there is hope for marriage to become more common eand enduring while divorces rate decrease rapidly.
