Remo Stars regain NPFL summit despite draw with Abia Warrior
Remo Stars reclaimed the top spot in the Nigeria Premier Football League despite settling for a goalless draw against Abia Warriors. Daniel Ogunmodede’s squad now boasts 36 points from 20 matches.
Lobi Stars slipped to second place following a 2-1 defeat to Plateau United in Jos. Mohammed Umar broke the deadlock for Plateau United four minutes before halftime, with Albert Hilary extending the lead in the 53rd minute.
Kumanga Suur’s goal three minutes later narrowed the deficit for Lobi Stars.
Elsewhere, Rangers secured a 1-0 victory over Akwa United at the Nnamdi Azikwe Stadium, courtesy of Kazeem Ogunleye’s goal shortly after halftime.
Meanwhile, Rivers United emerged triumphant in a thrilling 3-2 contest against Doma United in Port Harcourt, with Nyima Nwagua netting a hat-trick for the home team. Bidemi Owoku and Hilary Ekawu found the net for Doma United.
