President Bola Tinubu has convened an emergency meeting with key stakeholders, including governors from across the federation, the Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Chief Nyesom Wike, and Vice President Kashim Shettima in response to the prevailing challenges of hardship and insecurity in the nation,
The meeting, which began around 11:30 am on Thursday, is being held at the Council Chambers of the State House in Abuja.
It aims to address the pressing issues of security and the economic crisis currently affecting the country.
The Federal Government has initiated the release of substantial quantities of assorted grains into the market as part of efforts to make food available, affordable, and accessible nationwide.
Additionally, collaborative measures have been put in place to counter the escalating criminal activities, involving synergy among the armed forces and other paramilitary organizations.
President Tinubu, following the meeting with the governors, is expected to depart for the African Union summit in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
The summit, an annual gathering of African leaders, will focus on addressing the continent’s numerous challenges and determining effective interventions by the AU in various crises.
