Bayer Leverkusen’s Victor Boniface maintained his impressive form in the Europa League, scoring in their 2-0 victory over BK Hacken. The Super Eagles forward headed home Josip Stanisic’s cross in the 14th minute, extending his tally to four goals in five Europa League appearances this season.
Chuba Akpom continued his goalscoring run for Ajax, netting in their narrow 4-3 loss to Marseille in the Europa League. Akpom drew Ajax level with a well-placed header in the 80th minute, but Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s late winner snatched victory for Marseille.
