The management of Kaduna Electric has taken the step to dismiss 39 staff members due to various offences that went against the company’s policies.

This was announced by Abdulazeez Abdullahi, the company’s Head of Corporate Communication, in a statement issued in Kaduna on Monday.

The offences committed by the staff members ranged from misappropriation of company funds to fraudulent practices, unauthorized access, and abscondment.

According to Abdullahi, “These offenses were in violation of the recently endorsed revised employee conditions of service, which was supported by the national leadership of the two in-house labor unions and the management led by the Managing Director/CEO, Yusuf Usman Yahaya.”

The statement emphasized that the actions of the dismissed staff members had negatively impacted the company’s performance and needed to be addressed.

It was made clear that the management strongly disapproves of fraudulent activities by staff and is committed to taking decisive actions against those found involved.

In response to these dismissals, the company expressed hope that they would serve as a deterrent to others.

They also advised customers not to engage in any business transactions with fraudulent individuals who aim to shortchange the company, as this ultimately hinders the company’s ability to fulfill its obligations to the electricity market.

The statement further urged customers to promptly report any fraudulent activities they encounter, stating, “We call on our esteemed customers to promptly report any fraudulent act exhibited by our customers. We need the support of our consumers to weed out the bad eggs among us so that we can provide the necessary services to our esteemed customers in our franchise states.”
