Bandits abduct district head, five others in Zamfara
Bandits have kidnapped the District Head of Ruwan Rana, Alhaji Magaji Makau, along with five other individuals in Zamfara State.
The incident occurred in the Bukkuyum Local Government Area of the state on Saturday night.
Eyewitnesses claimed that the criminals arrived on motorcycles, and opened fire indiscriminately, causing panic among the residents who quickly sought shelter.
A resident of Bukkuyum town, Ilyasu Abubakar, while recounting the terrifying experience, said, “The bandits entered the town on Saturday night and began firing shots randomly. People went into hiding due to the fear of being kidnapped.
“The moment the gunmen entered our community, people knew they were there for abductions. Everyone went into hiding.
“They abducted the district head and five other individuals from our community. Furthermore, they made off with numerous livestock.”
The police authorities in the state have not yet officially confirmed the attack.
