Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has laughed off an incident in which striker Cole Palmer threw a bottle at him during the Blues’ 2-2 draw with Arsenal last week.

The bottle hit Pochettino on the back of the head, but the Argentine manager was not injured. He said he was “so angry” with Palmer at the time, but that he has since forgiven the striker.

“I was so angry (laughs) because I didn’t expect or see when it came.

“It was a little unlucky,” Pochettino said at his press conference on Friday. “Good thing that it didn’t damage me!

Palmer has since apologized for the incident, saying he was “furious” with himself for doing it.

He said he has spoken to Pochettino about it and that the manager has forgiven him.

Pochettino said he was impressed with Palmer’s performance against Arsenal and that he is a valuable member of the Chelsea squad.

Cole is a young player with a lot of potential,” Pochettino said. “He is still learning, but he is already a very good player. I am confident that he will have a bright future at Chelsea.”
