Elites responsible for Nigeria’s insecurity, says Osinbajo
Nigeria’s Vice-President, Yemi Osinbajo, on Thursday said Nigerian elites are promoting insecurity in the country.
According to Osinbajo, the elites have been promoting insecurity through their ethnic and regional sentiments, activities and utterances.
The vice-president bore his mind during the Leadership Newspapers Conference and Awards ceremony held at the International Conference Centre Abuja with the theme: “National and regional insecurity: The role of political and non-political actors in stabilization and consensus building.”
He said elites’ criticism of the activities of government without consideration was a recipe for insurrection and insurgency.
Osinbajo said, “Some of the elites can’t come to consensus when it comes to insecurity.”
