#AskThePolice: The trending video was doctored, says IGP Idris
The Nigeria Police has said that the trending video showing the Inspector-General of police, Ibrahim Idris, struggling to read a speech was doctored.
In the video, Idris, finds it difficult to pronounce the words, as he constantly repeats “I mean” and “transmission”.
The police force made this known while responding to questions from a Twitter user, identified as Dr Adekola Adewale.
Dr Adewale asked “#AskThePolice I saw a video yesterday on social media about the Inspector General of Police not able to read his own speech. Some of us suspect it is a doctored video, can you clarify that please? Thank you.”
A few hours ago the Poice had announced on it’s official Twitter page that it’s opening a question and answer platform where Nigerians can report and ask the IGP questions using the hashtag #AskThePolice.
“We are about to start #AskThePolice and the IG would begin responding to questions soon. Drop your questions with the hashtag #AskThePolice, @PoliceNG tweeted.”
