Terrorists plan to attack Abuja, NIS warns
The Nigeria Immigration Service has alerted Nigerians of a possible terrorists’ attack on the nation’s capital, Abuja.
This was disclosed in a memo sent to the Sector Commanders, Border Patrol Corps by Edirin Okoto, (Land Border Patrol Commander) Comptroller of Immigration Service on behalf of the AG. Comptroller General of Immigration Service.
According to the memo sighted by WuzupNigeria, dated 23/12/21, the immigration service said that the attacks could take place between the 17th to the 31st of December, 2021.
Okoto said, “The planned attack is purportedly being led by one Drahmane Ould Ali, an Algerian national, to be assisted by one Zahid Aminon, a Nigerian national.”
The report indicates that the suspected criminals are en route Nigeria from Mali through Gao and the Niger Republic, riding a white Toyota Hilux van with Reg. No- AG157EKY.
The immigration service added that they are aided by four Nigerian accomplices.
As such, the border patrol unit has been directed to “intensify alert levels, emplace necessary countermeasures at all our entry/exit points- air, land, sea/marine.”
