A delegation of supporters of former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar on Monday, met with the Benue State Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party to seek support for his presidential aspiration.

Led by a media entrepreneur, Chief Raymond Dokpesi, members of the team said they were in Makurdi, to seek the support of party members.

Dokpesi described Atiku as an aspirant with a wealth of experience who can rescue the country from the shackles of poverty, underdevelopment and backwardness the ruling All Progressive Congress had thrown the country into.

He said, “Elders and members of the party, PDP; you all voted in 2019, the situation in the country is not satisfactory, the country has never been so divided, we have witnessed so much insecurity, especially, what people of Benue went through, several attacks on Benue communities.

“I’m aware of concerns being expressed by people. Let me say not all Fulani are like …(pointed at Buhari’s portrait hung on the wall of the Government House banquet hall).

“Shagari was a better Fulani man who appointed three ministers from Benue; Yar’Adua also appointed a Benue man the Attorney-General and Minister of Justice.

“Not all Fulani are like him (Buhari) who brought in foreign Fulanis to Nigeria.

Responding, David Amoo, Laha Dzever, Moses Ajima and Hammatu Ullam who spoke on behalf of Zone A, B, C and women respectively, as well as the state party Chairman, John Ngbede, expressed appreciation to the team for the visit.
