Hillary Clinton changes Twitter bio after Chimamanda’s interview
Former US presidential aspirant, Hillary Rodham Clinton, has changed her Twitter bio after being quizzed by award-winning Nigerian born author, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie.
Hillary’s Twitter bio had read, “Wife, mom, grandma, women+kids advocate, FLOTUS, Senator, SecState, hair icon, pantsuit aficionado, 2016 presidential candidate”.
Hillary Clinton’s Twitter bio now reads:
“2016 Democratic Nominee, SecState, Senator, hair icon. Mom, Wife, Grandma x2, lawyer, advocate, fan of walks in the woods & standing up for our democracy.”
WuzupNaija had reported that Adichie, interviewed Hillary Clinton at a PEN World Voices Festival on April 22nd. During the interview, she asked Clinton why her twitter bio read ‘wife’ before anything else.
This had lead to a backlash from Nigerians who opined that Adichie had no right to have questioned the 70-year-old American politician.
Adiche said,
“…Your twitter account the first word that describes you is “wife” and then I think its “mom” and then “grandmother” and when I saw that I have to confess that I felt just a little bit upset and then I went and I looked at your husband’s twitter account the first word was not “husband” and I wanted to ask first of all if this was your choice, if this was something you wanted to do or something that maybe somebody thought will be a good idea for the campaign?”
