Fans have berated Nollywood actor, Yomi Fabiyi, over the release of a new film based on Baba Ijesha’s sexual assault case.
The film titled ‘Oko Iyabo’ portrays Princess’s underage foster daughter as Baba Ijesha’s lover.
‘Oko Iyabo’ which was released on YouTube on July 4, 2021, Fabiyi features characters with names of individuals involved in the case including actors Iyabo Ojo, Olarenwaju Omiyinka aka Baba Ijesha.
Fabiyi also depicts the disturbing CCTV video in a scene in the movie but portrays Baba Ijesha’s underage victim as his consenting lover.
The scandalous scene is fast garnering online outrage with Nigerians calling the actor out for trying to distort facts in the ongoing sexual assault case against Baba Ijesha.
The film opens with a scene where a child actor, who plays Iyabo, tells her classmate that she hopes to become a prostitute when she grows up.
Anita Vams on Twitter said it was unbelievable that Yomi Fabiyi could go this far making a movie a perceived despicable behavior.
Vams said, “…See!!! He actually did a movie about the whole princess stuff and painted the story like the 14-year-old girl was having a thing with Baba Ijesha. I can’t believe this!!!!
“He titled the movie “Oko Iyabo” and actually used their names!!!!”
Odogwu wrote, “Do you know how Mental it is to shield a Child Molester despite video evidence on the Ground, Threaten anyone that speaks against it & make a movie to paint another Picture of the Incident.”
“This is beyond Wicked, it’s inhumane to the Child & the Family.”
Arike on her part said it was unlikely that the actors and actresses in the film were in their right frames of mind.
She said, “The actors, the actresses, the cameraman and everybody that has anything to do with that video oloriburuku ni won (Crazy).
