FRESH FROM THE OVEN! Emzor sales rep busted in Illegal codeine sale [Video]
A yet to be named Emzor Pharmaceuticals sales representative was at the weekend busted by BBC undercover journalists selling codeine syrup illegally to unsuspecting buyers.
The bust was part of a documentary carried out by BBC reporters on the codeine epidemic in Nigeria.
In a video uploaded by BBC, the undercover reporters who posed as drug dealers met with the sales representative at an undisclosed eatery and requested for some quantity of codeine.
The sales representative who thought it was business as usual sold 60 bottles of the drug to them, noting that anything he sold to them was fresh from the ‘oven’.
Emzor Pharmaceuticals is currently investigating the sales representative.
The documentary further revealed that in two Nigerian states alone, over 3 million bottles of codeine were consumed every day.
