Nigeria vs. Lesotho: MoTM, MVP to win N2m
The Super Eagles have been handed a boost ahead of their African Cup of Nations qualifier against Lesotho as Nigeria Breweries PLC announced that it would award the sum of NI million for the Man-of-the-Match.
Reports revealed a cheque of N1 million will be handed over to the Most Valuable Player at the end of the match between hosts Nigeria and Lesotho at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos State.
Vanguard reports that the offers were made by 33 Export brand the beer company and another of the NFF’s partners, GAC Motors.
WuzupNigeria reports that the Super Eagles would be playing for prude against the Crocodiles of Lesotho having already qualified for the 2022 AFCON tournament holding in Cameroon.
Gernot Rohr’s men were handed Alex Iwobi’s boost earlier today after the Confederation of African Football CAF cleared the Everton man for the game against Lesotho.
Recall that Iwobi missed Saturday’s 1-0 win against the Squirrels of Benin Republic after testing positive for COVID-19.
He has since tested negative for the virus after another PCR test was conducted at Clina Lancet Laboratories in Victoria Island, Lagos, according to the Nigeria Football Federation.
Meanwhile, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State is expected to lead the dignitaries to today’s encounter, with his deputy, Dr Obafemi Hamzat, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, Sports and Youth Development Minister Sunday Dare and the permanent secretary in the ministry, Mr Nebolisa Anako also expected.
President of the NFF and Nigeria’s new member of the FIFA Council, Mr Amaju Melvin Pinnick will lead the dignitaries of the football family to the match.
