CHINESE SUPER LEAGUE! Mikel celebrates as Tianjin Teda record first win of the season
Nigeria and Tianjin Teda’s captain, John Mikel Obi, has taken to Twitter to celebrate his club’s first win of the season in the Chinese Super League.
The 30-year-old, who helped his club beat Tianjin Quanjian 3-2, is hopeful the club will now hit the ground running after a poor start this season.
Mikel bagged an assist as Tianjin Teda recorded their first win of the season after one draw and one defeat from their opening two games of the campaign.
Frank Acheampong scored a brace for Tianjin Teda in the encounter, while Brazilian forward Alexandre Pato and Anthony Modeste were on target for Tianjin Quanjian.
“First win of the season – Done ✅ We build from here ?,” the former Chelsea midfielder wrote on his Twitter handle on Monday.
The win moved Tianjin Teda up to eighth place on four points in the 16-team CSL table.
