Funke Akindele, Ayo Adesanya, Yemi Alade, others join #slowmo challenge
In cyberspace, it is always a new day, different challenge. So far, it is the turn of the #slowmo challenge.
For the past two weeks, the #slowmo challenge has held sway in the Nigerian cyberspace, especially on Instagram. Although no one really knows the originator of the challenges, it has become quite popular with people ‘catching cruise’ with the challenge.
Basically, for the #slowmo challenge, a person needs to film his/herself making various action in slow motion to a choice song. So far, top choice for songs among the ‘challengers’ are T-Classic’s La Cream, Single and Searching by Yemi Alade featuring Falz, Tiwa Savage’s Koroba, and Olamide’s Infinity featuring Omah Lay.
However, what is a challenge if your favourite celebs do not catch the vibes. So far, so celebrities have been bitten by the #slowmo challenge and they include the likes of Funke Akindele, Ayo Adesanya, Yemi Alade, Falz, Adeniyi Johnson, Don Jazzy, Josh2funny, among others.
They all took to their Instagram accounts to show their goofy side with the #slowmo challenge.
A few days ago, Omo Ghetto star, Funke Akindele, took to her Instagram page to show ‘how slow she could go,’ to the delight of her fans. She posted a video of her doing the #slowmo challenge with the caption, #Slowmotionchallenge is not for everyone o but #omoghettothesaga is for everyone. Check out the movie at the cinema nearest to you. She certainly gave her fans a good laugh as her video has over a million views.
Ace actress Ayo Adesanya also gave the #slowmo challenge a shot as she took to her Instagram reel to post a video. From the comment section, her fans encouraged her with most saying, ‘it is the thought that matters.” Her goofiness attracted over 13,000 views with comments from top celebrities in the Nigerian entertainment industry. From her comment section, it is certain she successfully planted smiles on the faces of her friends, fans and lovers.
Yemi Alade and Falz did a ‘collabo’ with their #slowmo challenge just like their song, Single and Searching. While Yemi Alade’s post has 640,933 views on her verified Instagram account, Falz video has 796,009 views. Although both artiste ‘killed’ the challenge, they let their fans be the judge of who is better.
Popular actor, Adeniyi Johnson, also gave the #slowmo challenge a shot. From his comment section, his fans and viewer could not help but burst into laughter over the actor’s actions; he left them dazed with his challenge that has garnered over 128,000 views.
Social media influencer and comedian Josh2funny probably had the cutest #slowmo challenge which featured his wife. In the video which he posted on his verified Instagram page, his wife was the boombox while the comedian did what seems to be the #slowmo challenge. He captioned the video which left his fans hysterical, ‘My first slow-mo.’ So far the video has garnered over 145,000 views.
As the #slowmo challenge is still trending worldwide, over five million people have taken to it based on its hashtag on Instagram.
