Nollywood filmmaker Funke Akindele has publicly backed actor Kamo State and his debut cinema film, “Starlomo,” putting to rest speculation about a possible rift between them.
According to TheCable, the rumours began after Akindele was absent from the film’s Lagos premiere on September 20, prompting social media users to question the state of their relationship.
Kamo State later dismissed the speculation, explaining that Akindele missed the premiere because she was outside the country.
“I woke up to see different opinions online about Iyamii and myself,” he wrote.
“Please we’re on good terms. She missed my premiere simply because she wasn’t in the country and nothing more to it, so please don’t assume otherwise.”

On Saturday, Akindele shared a post on X congratulating Kamo State and filmmaker Kayode Kasum while encouraging her followers to watch the movie.
“STARLOMO… Let’s go see a good movie this weekend,” she wrote.
“Congratulations @kamo_state @kayodekasum. I wish you all the best at the box office.”
She added that the film was already showing in cinemas nationwide.
Kamo responded warmly to the endorsement, thanking Akindele for her continued support.
“Iyami Da? Iyami Re ooo, Thank you for supporting me always ma, I’m grateful mama,” he wrote.
Kamo State marks cinema milestone
“Starlomo” hit cinemas nationwide on Friday, marking Kamo State’s debut cinema project.
The actor began his career as a skit maker alongside Ozain as part of the comedy duo Nepa Boys before branching out on his own.
He has since appeared in productions including “Warlord,” “Behind The Scenes,” “Abanisete,” “Adunni,” “Everybody Loves Jenifa” and “Labake Olododo.”
Kamo State has previously described his relationship with Akindele as a divine blessing and a major turning point in his career.
Her latest public endorsement appears to have further silenced speculation of a fallout between the pair.
