Rahama Sadau has not been arrested, sentenced to death – Bashir Ahmad
Presidential aide, Bashir Ahmad has said that the Nigeria Police Force did not arrest Kannywood actress Rahama Sadau.
Sharing on Twitter, Bashir Ahmad advised the public to disregard any news that the actress has been sentenced to death.
He said, “I don’t see any good intention in spreading the fake news about Rahama Sadau.”
He continued:
“I have said it before and I am saying it now, @PoliceNG didn’t arrest Rahama or anyone else.
“Any news about her arrest or her being sentenced to death should be regarded as fake news and incitement.”
It would be recalled that a probe was ordered by the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Adamu Mohammed, into the controversy generated by a picture Rahama Sadau shared on social media.
The picture which shows the actress in a revealing gown was found to be offensive by some Muslims on Twitter.
Their stance was countered by some Twitter users who described them as fanatics. This led to a back and forth during which Islam and its prophet were allegedly blasphemed.
The actress has since been suspended by a coalition of northern filmmakers despite tendering an apology to the Muslim community.
I don’t see any good intention in spreading the fake news about Rahama Sadau, I have said it before and I am saying it now, @PoliceNG didn’t arrest Rahama or anyone else. Any news about her arrest or her being sentenced to death should be regarded as fake news and incitement.
