VIDEO: Fire outbreak destroys Hip TV studio
Properties worth millions of naira have been destroyed in a fire outbreak at Hip TV studios in Lagos.
According to officials of the media company owned by Ayo Animashaun, the fire outbreak was caused by power surge in one of the company’s studios.
The official revealed that though a lot of damage was done, some equipment were salvaged, thanks to the neighbours who ran to the rescue when firefighters could only arrive 45 minutes after they were called.
“HipTV Studio engulfed in Fire today at about 5:30pm. Neighbors and passerby’s helped with trying to put out the fire till the Lagos State Fire Service arrived,” the media company wrote on its IG page.
Hip TV is the sole channel with broadcasting rights to The Headies award.
