Coronavirus: Osun index case, a UK returnee, says govt.
Osun State Government on Wednesday said the index coronavirus case in the state was a United Kingdom returnee.
Speaking in the Government House, Osogbo, Osun Commissioner for Health, Dr Rafiu Isamotu, said the man reported himself to him as soon as he arrived the state, and was immediately subjected to test.
Isamotu said the man had not contacted any member of his family before he was subjected to test.
Giving an update on the situation regarding coronavirus in the state, Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, said because of their travel history, he and his wife had subjected themselves to test and the result had returned negative.
He pleaded with all returnees from the United Kingdom and other parts of Europe to go into self-isolation to prevent the spread of the disease.
