Precious Owolabi sustained wounds while covering clash between Nigerian Police and the Shiites protesters

Tributes have continued to pour in for Precious Owolabi, a National Youth Service Corps member who died from a gunshot wound sustained while covering the clash between the police and Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN) on Monday in Abuja.

Owolabi, 23, was until his death, an NYSC member with Channels TV.

Sympaathiesr thronged to their Twitter handles to pray for the soul of the departed and sent words of encouragement to his family for the irreplaceable loss.

One Eromaleey Ero Egware opined that the promising journalist should “made a national hero and compensated for his selfless service to the country and channels TV”.

The NYSC Director-General, Brig.-Gen. Shuaibu Ibrahim, also paid his last respect to Owolabi before his corpse was removed from the National Hospital Abuja, on Tuesday.
