In a world where it is believed that men are seldom celebrated and their bad deeds more pronounced than the good, some Nigerians are sharing positive vibes about their fathers and they are quite beautiful.
In celebration of the 2019 Father’s Day, Nigerians are not letting the day pass without an acknowledgement of the special and adorable sacrifices their fathers made in their lives.
Some Nigerians took to social media to share some of these fond memories which are quite emotional and an inspiration to any young man to start the journey of fatherhood and may also challenge any father who has not been living up to expectations to buckle up.
A Twitter user had taken to the micro-blogging site to ask other users to share fond memories they have of their dads.
She tweeted:
I’ve probably asked this before, but what fond memories do you have of your dad? One not related to him spending money?

Shortly after her tweet, torrents of reactions started pouring in from Nigerians
One of the who responded tweeted:
I was frowning on my wedding morning after someone spilled malt on my dress, my daddy thought I was unhappy about the wedding. He whisphered ‘let’s cancel everything and go to our house’ https://t.co/sWRc82PWWV

He spent almost a month in Benin because of this matter. Between navigating police station, barracks, Uniben and hospitals. He never for once blamed me for anything, never made me feel guilty. It was the best landing I could have ever asked after something wicked had been done

When he was talking to me about sports… He was so good.
Next was when he used to give me his Time and Newsweek magazines to read… Then we’ll talk about stuff of interest in it.
He was amazing. Died when I was 9.

Few months after we lost my mum and my siblings and I felt the world was going to end. My dad took us to the living room, held our hands, started praying for us one after the other and began weeping in the process. I felt it!

The first day I tried to cook beans, it was a disaster. I forgot to put oil, salt or seasoning, everyone was so mad at me and I felt really bad. My father ate a plate and asked for second helpings, he was the only one apart from me who ate that beans and beans gives him heartburn.

One time I cooked bitterleaf soup, so bitter that no one at home could eat it, including me the chef, well, except my dad, he said, ” Keep the soup for me, it’s my daughter that cooked it”. Man literally ate the whole soup until it finished. Can never forget that day. ❤ pic.twitter.com/ompLys737F

Popsi drove me to school on my first day. Was there on the second day and came to Ago Ìwòye every day till he was sure I was fine.
During the June 16 massacre at OOU, he drove through the chaos of burning tyres and rioting students to get me out.
And he’s funny AF.
