The lawmaker representing Kogi West Senatorial District at the Senate, Senator Dino Melaye, seems to have thrown his hat in the ring for the 2019 Kogi governorship election.

Multiple reports on Saturday revealed that the Senator has declared his intention to contest in the governorship race of the Confluence State in the next election scheduled to hold later this year.

According to reports, Melaye told some leaders of the People Democratic Party (PDP) in his constituency that,

“By the grace of God I will emerge the next Kogi Governor.”

It was gathered that the party leaders had paid him a visit at his Ayetoro-Gbede country home, in Kogi state on Saturday when he dropped the hint.

Melaye also Tweeted the reports from several news platforms on his Twitter handle.

He thereafter tweeted a photo from the meeting with the caption,

“Kogites!! Here am I send me”
