Court remands five suspects over Ondo bank robbery [Video]
A Chief Magistrate Court sitting in Akure, the Ondo State capital, has remanded in police custody five suspects for their alleged involvement in Idoani Bank robbery two weeks ago.
The accused suspects include Isah Yusuf (27), Joshua Egumah Abuse (22), Idris Alli Abdullahi (32), Philip Achem (26), Odeh Friday Fancy (27), Peter Ufomadu (29).
WuzupNaija reports that no fewer than seven persons lost their lives at Ido Ani in the Ose Local Government Area of Ondo State on Monday 8th April, when a gang of armed robbers attacked the First Bank branch in the town. A police inspector; the Vice Principal of the Ido Ani Grammar School, Mr David Oluloro; and employees of the bank were some of the victims who died during the attack.
Though six suspects were arraigned on a seven-count charge by the Ondo state police command, one of them was said to be at large.
Chief Magistrate Victoria Bob-Manuel after listening to arguments from the prosecuting and defence counsels remanded the suspects in police custody till May 2, pending the advice from the office of the director of public prosecution.
